University makes key appointment to drive excellence
The University of Derby has made a key appointment to drive forward its ambitions to provide excellence and opportunities for all students.
Professor Keith McLay has been made Provost – Learning and Teaching.
He joined the university in January 2018 as Pro Vice-Chancellor Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Education from Canterbury Christ Church University, where he was Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
In his new role, he will lead the overall development and delivery of the university’s learning and teaching strategy.
He said: “I am delighted to be moving into this role during what is a transformational time for Learning and Teaching at Derby.”
Professor Kathryn Mitchell, vice-chancellor of the University of Derby, said: “At Derby, we are an inclusive university that is constantly striving for excellence and opportunities for our students.
“We are passionate about widening access and giving all our students the best possible experience. This role demonstrates the investment we are making in our staff and in our learning and teaching strategy to help us achieve this.”
