Manufacturing big guns go for national honours

Toyota Manufacturing UK and Rolls-Royce have been named as finalists in national awards, which recognise the UK’s best manufacturers.

Both companies have been shortlisted for Insider’s Made in the UK Awards, after tasting success in regional events.

The Made in the UK Awards celebrate the UK’s most innovative and successful manufacturers, ranging from SMEs to multinationals.

Toyota Manufacturing UK, which has its car making plant at Burnaston, will be representing the Midlands in the Automotive, Aerospace & Rail Award category.

Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce’s Alexia Williams will be competing for Apprentice of the Year.

The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in Liverpool on 27 June.
