A host of top speakers have been added to the line-up for this year’s Derby Property Summit.

So far, more than 280 delegates have signed up to attend the event, which will take place on Wednesday 10 July, at Reach Events, on Pride Park.

Organised by Marketing Derby and backed by headline partner law firm Smith Partnership, a top line-up of keynote speakers and panellists are being assembled for the event, which this year is called ‘This Must Be the Place’.

Among the latest keynotes speakers to be confirmed is Ojay McDonald, chief executive of the Association of Town and City Management.

Ojay is considered one of the country’s foremost experts on the high street.

He works with government ministers, parliamentarians, economic development professionals, business leaders and place-makers across the UK and Ireland to support town and city centres.

Also confirmed to take the stage is Claire Ward, the recently elected East Midlands Mayor.

Claire recently showed her support for the region at UKREiiF, in Leeds, where she attended and spoke at a number of events designed to promote the region.

Also joining the Derby Property Summit 2024 line-up will be The Property Hub, which has identified the city as an “investment hot spot”.

The Property Hub is a popular podcast, aimed at property investors, hosted by Rob Bence and Rob Dix, who also write about property for The Sunday Times.

At an event held during UKREiiF called ‘What Makes a Good Investment Location?’, the ‘two Robs’ explained why they had named Derby in their top 10 investment hotspots for 2024.

And at the Derby Property Summit, they will detail why Derby is one of the places to be.

All of these speakers are in addition to Samantha McClary, editor of the EG (formerly Estates Gazette), which provides data, news and analytics for the UK commercial property market.

Last year, EG recognised the public/private sector partnership behind the Derby City Lab, awarding it the Public/Private Partnership Award at the prestigious EG Awards.

And, as in previous years, the event will once again be expertly chaired by the highly respected business journalist Declan Curry.

A particular focus for this year’s property summit will be projects in the city centre, some of which are due to come online in 2025, billed as Derby’s ‘olympic year’.

There will also be an exhibition of the visions for regeneration projects by architecture students from the University of Derby – a feature of the summit which always ‘wows’ guests on the day.

In addition to Smith Partnership as headline partner, this year’s summit is also backed by brand partners AtkinsRéalis, Compendium Living, ION Developments and Vinci Developments UK.

Partnership opportunities are still available for this year’s summit. If you’d like to be part of the event, contact Adam Rodgers at adam.rodgers@marketingderby.co.uk.
