Packed schedule for Team Derby at UKREiiF 2024
Team Derby is organising and taking part in a number of events at this year’s UKREiiF.
As well as holding one-to-one meetings with new and existing investors, including those cultivated at MIPIM, members of the team will be highlighting Derby’s investment opportunities and pipeline projects through various events and panel discussions.
On Tuesday 21 May, the opening day of UKREiiF, Marketing Derby and Derby City Council will take part in an East Midlands Investor and Developer Facilitation session, meeting new contacts who are interested in Derby’s opportunities.
Then, in the Midlands Engine Pavilion, Team Derby will be supporting The Property Hub’s latest podcast on Derby and Nottingham, entitled ‘What Makes a Good Investment Location?’.
The Property Hub has already identified Derby as the best place in the UK to invest, ahead of Manchester.
A key event for Team Derby will be a panel discussion involving Derby City Council’s leadership and a range of private partners who have chosen to invest in the city, who will discuss why 2025 is Derby’s “olympic” year.
Team Derby will then round off the first day by attending the launch of the Midlands Engine’s updated Midlands Investment Portfolio, which includes a number of Derby schemes.
On the Wednesday, Team Derby will be holding its own private roundtable discussion on the topic of how Derby’s heritage as a hi-tech city for 300 years underpins its investment offer today.
And Team Derby will be hosting a table at an event hosted by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and the new East Midlands County Combined Authority, with the newly-elected Mayor, Claire Ward, in attendance.
Team Derby will also be supporting a panel discussion organised by D2N2 called Focus on East Midlands: Our Time is Now.
During the session, delegates will hear directly from the new East Midlands Mayor and senior leaders from D2N2 LEP, East Midlands Freeport and the East Midlands Development Company, who will outline investment and development opportunities in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and explain how devolution is set to transform the East Midlands region.
John Forkin, managing director of Marketing Derby, said: “The D2N2 area is about to take a significant step making us a premier location for government support.
“We anticipate a consequent uptick in investment enquiries.”
