Nominations sought for volunteer awards

Community Action Derby has made an urgent call for nominations for awards which recognise the city’s voluntary and community sector.

Organised by CAD and Derby Volunteer Centre, with support from Derby Homes, the Derby Voluntary Sector Awards recognise volunteers, community champions and voluntary and community organisations in Derby that have made a positive difference.

This year, there are 18 categories, including the new Green Ambassador award, which honours individuals, groups or organisations making a difference to communities through the promotion and protection of the environment.

Other new categories include the Community Leader award and the LGBT+ Ambassador award.

The winners will be invited to attend a glitzy award ceremony during Volunteers’ Week in June, where their achievements will be celebrated. All nominees will receive a certificate to thank them for their work.
