Bondholders inspire sports students
Marketing Derby Bondholders involved in sport have been inspiring university students seeking a career in the industry.
Dawn Spendlove, from Love Marketing, organised a careers evening for the students she mentors through the Loughborough University Coach and Volunteer Academy.
Hosted by Ed Dawes, of Pepper Dawes Media, who is also a BBC sports commentator, the panel included Dawn, a former marketing manager at Derby County, Dean Jackson, of HUUB Design, former Rams chief executive Sam Rush and Lauren Taft, Derby County Ladies first team coach.
Dawn said: “The support of the Derby business community and contacts I’ve made over the years never fails to amaze me.
“I thought about holding the session as many of the students I mentor are looking for careers in sport so providing them with the opportunity to hear first-hand how the panel got into their careers and the journey to get there was an exceptional opportunity.
“The students also made the most of being able to network after the event and ask more questions, as well as connect for future opportunities.
“I’d like to thank the whole panel for sharing your stories along with Ed Dawes and Sally Pepper, from Pepper Dawes Media, for their support in making the evening such a success.”
