Matthew Montague Architects has been appointed to help develop new sports facilities at a renowned independent school.

The firm has been selected as the lead architects for the development of new covered sports pitches and facilities at Stowe School, in Buckinghamshire.

Renowned for its long and rich history, dating back to its inception in 1923, Stowe School is set amidst the grand Grade 1 listed mansion house, with its historic gardens and landscape managed by The National Trust.

As the school continues to expand, it has set forth an ambitious sports development strategy, prompting an open tender to architects across the country, culminating in the selection of Matthew Montague Architects.

Daniel Evans, architect at Matthew Montague Architects, said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as the lead architects for this project at Stowe School.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity, and we look forward to collaborating with the school to create inspiring new sports facilities for the students.”

Matthew Montague Architects’ portfolio includes projects with Derby County, Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Repton School, as well as various notable buildings in Derbyshire.

Projects include the University of Derby’s Masterplan, the dining room at Repton Preparatory School, and Culland Farm, reportedly the largest house to be built in Derbyshire in the past 40 years.
