Property group Clowes Developments has secured a deal for a large mixed-use development site.

The firm, which is based at Ednaston, near Ashbourne, has exchanged unconditional contracts on a 55-acre site on the edge of Congleton, in East Cheshire.

The mixed-use scheme comprises the 23-acre Viking Park, which will form an extension to Congleton Business Park.

Also included within the scheme proposals is the development of up to 175 homes, a park and wildlife corridors plus a neighbourhood retail centre.

Marc Freeman, director at Clowes Developments, said: “We are extremely excited about bringing this scheme forward and delivering a thriving new community with high quality homes and business space.

“We’re confident that development of the site located on the fringe of Congleton will provide a number of economic benefits through the extensive commercial, employment, and residential uses.”
