Double win for Toyota Corolla at What Car? Awards
A car built by Toyota Manufacturing UK has scooped two prestigious industry awards.
The Corolla, which is built at the car giant’s Burnaston plant, achieved the double success at the recent What Car? Awards, where the Hatchback version won Family Car of the Year and the Touring Sports the Estate Car of the Year.
They impressed the judging panel with their reasonable running costs, driving quality, everyday practicality and built-in reliability.
Steve Huntingford, editor of What Car?, said: “In the face of spiralling costs in many parts of the new car market, the Corolla blends still-sensible prices with outstanding real-world fuel efficiency.
“However, there’s more to it than just numbers. The Corolla offers reassuring handling and is one of the best-riding family cars you can buy. What’s more, its user-friendly interior feels built to last, something that’s backed up by Toyota’s superb reliability record.”
Emma Lane, general manager of brand communications at Toyota, said: “These awards are a much-valued seal of approval for our Corolla line-up.
“Today’s Hatchback and Touring Sports deliver an even stronger balance of performance and efficiency from our latest hybrid electric system – in fact the fifth generation of our world-leading technology.
“Moreover, the skilled teams at our Toyota Manufacturing UK plants work to the highest standards to ensure customers can be assured of exceptional quality durability and reliability, something that’s reflected in a market-leading peace-of-mind warranty that provides cover for up to 10 years.”
