GoldBox Productions has spoken of its pride after being asked to capture Marketing Derby’s recent London Embassy event on film.

Back in October, more than 200 guests, including Bondholders, investors, ambassadors and politicians, descended upon the Grade I-listed Guildhall, the City of London’s civic and ceremonial centre, for the event which aims to raise the profile of Derby and highlight its suitability as a place to invest.

The team from GoldBox Productions were there to capture the journey to the capital – and film the event itself, which featured keynote speakers, including Councillor Baggy Shanker, leader of Derby City Council , Professor Keith McLay and Dr Jenna Waters, both from the University of Derby, and Helen Gordon, chief executive of Grainger Plc.

From that footage, the video production firm created a short film, which has already been viewed hundreds of times on YouTube.

One of the key themes of this year’s embassy was how education can play a key role in addressing Derby’s social mobility challenge.

So, it was particularly fitting that GoldBox were there, as all its founders are University of Derby graduates.

GoldBox Productions was established at the beginning of 2019 by Ben Collison, James Heaney, Joshua Spaticchia and Odhran Taylor, who at the time were in their second year of studying for a degree in film production.

The business then became fully operational in August the following year when they graduated.Since then, the business has worked with a range of clients, including Derby Museums, Cosy Direct, Ward Recycling and Nimbus Disability.

And nationally, it has worked with the likes of Bear Grylls, Dunelm and Hilton Hotels.

Also among its clients is the University of Derby, with which earlier this year it signed a partnership agreement, which sees GoldBox provide mentoring and workshops to students.

Today, GoldBox offers a range of videography and photography services, producing promotional, corporate, event, testimonial and training videos, as well as social content.

Co-founder Ben Collison said the firm was honoured to be asked once again to capture the London Embassy, having also filmed last year’s event, which took place at Lancaster House.

He said: “With the success of last year’s London Embassy, all of us at GoldBox were so excited for this one.

“Being involved in the embassy event, as a production team and attendees, allows us to reflect on our journey as a company.

“When we started GoldBox we had little experience and no contacts.

“Therefore, seeing so many familiar faces at this year’s London Embassy reminded us of how far we’ve come since then.

“The Derby business community and Marketing Derby have been supportive since the beginning.

“The two promotional videos we have created for the embassy still feel like some of our most cinematic work yet.

“We look forward to meeting more great people and working on new exciting projects across Derby in the future.”
