Cricket club celebrates awards hat-trick
Derbyshire County Cricket Club is celebrating a hat-trick off the field after scooping three trophies at the recent Business of Cricket Awards.
The awards, organised by the ECB, recognise the off-field progress of cricket clubs over the past year.
Derbyshire and Warwickshire were joint-winners of the first award of the night, claiming the Tickets or Membership Sales and Marketing Campaign of the Year Award.
This award recognised the collaborative creation and delivery of the inaugural Blast Off event, which saw the 2023 Vitality Blast begin with a huge double-header at Edgbaston.
Derbyshire also won the Customer Retention Initiative Award, for the campaign around the sold-out Yorkshire Vikings T20 fixture at Queen’s Park.
Finally, the club was awarded the Best Development of a New Facility (under £500,000) Award for the installation of a new toilet block and Changing Places Facility at The Incora County Ground.
Tom Skinner, head of marketing and communications at Derbyshire, said: “These three awards are a testament to the hard work of our entire off-field team.
“Our aim is to continually improve the experience we offer supporters, whether that be breaking new ground with Blast Off, growing fan loyalty, or making The Incora County Ground an even more inclusive venue.
“Our attention is now on next season and, alongside an exciting squad of players, there are many reasons to look forward to the return of cricket at Derbyshire in 2024.”
