Cathedral Quarter BID board welcomes new directors
The Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District has welcomed some new directors to its board, who together will help shape the area’s future.
Dean Jackson, founder and owner of city-based sportswear firm HUUB, and Dean of Derby, the Very Reverend Dr Peter Robinson, were among the new BID directors voted in following its recent AGM.
The role of a BID board director is to support the governance of the BID and its delivery of the Cathedral Quarter Business Plan objectives.
Dean said: “My business is based in the Cathedral Quarter, so it is the very least I can do to join others who want to make Derby, and specifically the Cathedral Quarter, a better place.”
The Very Reverend, Dr Peter Robinson, said: “I am very pleased to join the Cathedral Quarter BID board of directors and to work closely with the team.
“This area has so much to offer, and I look forward to supporting its growth for everyone in the city of Derby and beyond to enjoy.”
Martin Langsdale, chair of the Cathedral Quarter BID, said: “We are really delighted to welcome our new directors.
“They bring with them a huge amount of experience and knowledge, and this will certainly help to steer the BID through the next few years.
“They have energy and drive and I know they will help to drive positive change.
“I really look forward to working with them as we support businesses through this exciting time for our city centre.
“We know there are challenges for businesses in this area, but we want to support them every step of the way to ensure they are part of the Cathedral Quarter for many more years to come.”
In November 2022, businesses voted in favour of renewing the BID for five more years until 2028, securing £1.4 million to be spent on promoting and enhancing the area.
Its project delivery is managed by placemaking and Business Improvement District specialists pfbb UK.
