Jazz and blues bar set to open

The Hairy Dog has announced an opening date for a new jazz and blues bar in the city centre.

The Hound Dog Jazz and Blues Bar, in Friar Gate, is set to launch on 18 November.

The newest addition to Derby’s music scene promises a ‘relaxed and enjoyable’ setting for live music enthusiasts and those with a penchant for Italian cuisine and expertly crafted cocktails.

Every Friday and Saturday, the stage will come alive with jazz and blues artists from around the world.

As well as the music, the venue will serve a range of Italian dishes, from pasta options to pizzas.

The Hound Dog will also showcase the skills of a team of in-house mixologists.

Ahead of the official opening night, on 16 November the venue will host a night of comedy, headlined by Scott Bennet, who will be supported by Simon Hall, The Edi Johnston Bit and Karen Bayley.
