DCG achieves high Standard
Bondholder Derby College Group (DCG) has been re-accredited to the matrix Standard after being assessed across all its colleges at The Roundhouse, Joseph Wright Centre, Broomfield Hall and Ilkeston Community College as well as community settings.
The matrix Standard demonstrates the high quality of the information, advice and guidance (IAG) to support students in their career, learning, work or life goals.
DCG was assessed for the international quality standard on the support it provides across all its colleges. The assessor’s report particularly commended the cross-college approach to IAG, its strong approach to inclusion and its commitment to raising aspirations in local communities.
The report stated that managers and staff are very focused on the needs of individual students and bring a professional, impartial and objective approach to their work, as well as the development of effective pathways into employment and education were consistently reported and evidence of student feedback and discussions with careers guidance partners reinforced this.
Helen Jefferson, Director of Services for Students, said: “IAG is at the heart of everything that we do – focusing on careers not courses to ensure that all of our students have a clear pathway to their future goals.
“The award of the matrix Standard is well justified as the team has helped thousands of students of all ages and circumstances over the years to fulfil their goals – whether that is to go onto university, an apprenticeship, into work or setting up a business.
“With this accreditation, students can be confident that they will continue to receive an excellent standard of information, advice and guidance support.
