Some major developments in Derby have been shortlisted for prestigious regional property awards.

In the Construction Project of the Year category, three Derby schemes are shortlisted: The Condor, the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre Midlands and the Nightingale Quarter.

The Condor is Derby’s first ever built-to-rent apartments scheme.

Part of the Becketwell regeneration scheme, it consists of 259 apartments.

Partners involved in the project include St James Securities, Derby City Council and Rodgers Leask.

As well as Construction Project of the Year, The Condor is also up for the Design Excellence Award.

The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, at Infinity Park, will be home to Nuclear AMRC.

And Nightingale Quarter is a residential scheme being delivered by Wavensmere Homes.

This scheme is also shortlisted for the Regeneration and Restoration Project of the Year, alongside The Condor/Springwell Square, Chesterfield’s One Waterside Place and Swadlincote’s Cadley Park.

Wavensmere Homes also features in the Property Deal of the Year category, for its deal with Clowes Developments, which will bring forward plans to redevelop the derelict Friar Gate Goods Yard.

Also nominated in this category is the University of Derby’s securing of a £70 million private placement bond to finance a new business school and HelloFresh’s 434,000 sq ft distribution centre at SmartParc SEGRO Derby.

The university and Rolls-Royce are also shortlisted for the Skills and Apprenticeship Scheme Award for the Nuclear Skills Academy.

Wavensmere is shortlisted for Developer of the Year, alongside St. Modwen Logistics and St James Securities, and Residential Developer of the Year.

Finally, Innes England will contest the Agent of the Year category.

Ian Griffin, deputy editor at Insider, said: “The shortlist once again highlights the vibrancy, creativity and resilience of the region’s property sector.

“It’s also great once again to see a high level of diversity, with companies and projects from across the region and in a variety of different shapes and sizes, from just a handful of buildings to hundreds of new homes and major cutting-edge developments.

“These awards, now in their 23rd year, are both a celebration of the region’s property sector and a chance to network among its leading players.”

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 7 September in Nottingham.

A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented on the night to someone who has made a major contribution to the region’s property sector.
