Frogspark’s fundraising innovation

Bondholder Frogspark has designed, built and launched a fundraising website, aiming to help small, independent businesses during the current Coronavirus pandemic.

The digital agency launched a micro-fundraising platform following an idea that was generated nearly 2 years ago. Don8mini aims to help SMEs in Derbyshire receive donations from the public as the equivalent of a small, everyday purchase.

Rob Twells, Managing Director at Frogspark said: “I had the idea a couple of years back. I know that I buy coffees like they’re going out of fashion, pints at the pub and food here and there without thinking. It’s the businesses that produce or sell these types of items that are going to feel the strain more than anybody right now. What if a few of us just donated the price of one coffee or one pint to one of these businesses – that would make an impact. If we can fundraise just a little, for a few businesses we love in the area, that would at least bring a smile to somebodies face.”

Plans are being made to introduce a directory of businesses who might benefit from more awareness. More and more small and independent businesses, specifically in the food/drink, retail and hospitality sectors, are introducing a wider product ranges to their online shops, for people to enjoy at home. The directory will highlight these businesses and how customers can take advantage of these new initiatives.

Right now, Frogspark is just picking one business to highlight on rotation based on who they like, want to support or use regularly. Over time there are plans to introduce polls to pick the next business.

The first small business chosen is Bondholder BEAR. If you'd like to help, please head to don8mini.co.uk.
