Saxophonix on the Southbank
Bondholder Hot House Music's ‘The Saxophonix’ took centre stage last week at the Southbank Royal Festival Hall on Yolanda Brown’s Band Jam Show.
Award-winning saxophonist and broadcaster Yolanda Brown last performed with the group at The London Saxophone Festival (2018). She is famously passionate about music education and often uses her platform to support and encourage young musicians across the globe. She is the only person to win two Jazz Mobo awards back to back.
“The Saxophonix are sensational performers and I am immensely proud of each and everyone one of these fabulous young musicians. Later this year they will be lighting up the Tokyo Olympics as part of their ‘far-east’ tour”, said Jon Eno, CEO of Hot House Music.
Jon Eno has been the CEO of Hot House Music Schools since its inception in 2002 and is a strong advocate for music education, recently being awarded a British Empire Medal (Civil Division) for his outstanding services to music education. He said: “The Saxophonix are one of the many successful bands that have come from Hot House Music Schools in Derbyshire.”
Hot House Music is social enterprise and therefore all their activities are based around access and nurture, ensuring that all of their young students get the opportunity to learn in a safe and fun learning environment.
