Two limited edition pieces created by Royal Crown Derby to mark the Coronation of King Charles III have proven to be a sell-out.

The Osmaston Road fine bone china manufacturer produced a limited run of 500 Coronation plates, as well as 250 cups – all of which have now sold out.

The designs are inspired by the King’s passion for the environment, with butterflies and bumble bees intertwined in the floral border detailing, capturing the classic English garden aesthetic associated with King Charles III gardens at Highgrove House.

The floral design embeds the emblems of the countries within the United Kingdom to acknowledge the responsibility of the King as both leader of the Commonwealth and Head of State across the world.

Inspiration has also been taken from the precious Crown Jewels used during the Coronation ceremony.

The regal purple and 22-carat gold design draws inspiration from the precious materials and colours that make up the Crown Jewels, in particular the St Edward’s crown, which is placed on the monarch’s head.

The range marks the 10th commemorative collection designed and produced by Royal Crown Derby since the coronation of King George III in 1761.
