Olympian to bring swimming academy to city

Olympian Mark Foster has announced he is to bring his swimming academy to Moorways Sports Village – a facility managed on behalf of Derby City Council by Everyone Active.

Mark, along with fellow swimming star Katy Sexton, are bringing the Mark Foster Swimming Academy to Moorways during half term on Wednesday, May 31.

They will be supported by a team of sports scientists, nutritionists and strength and conditioning coaches.

Mark is a six-times world champion who competed at five Olympic Games and helped to launch the new Moorways in May last year.

He said: “I’m really excited at the prospect of returning to Moorways and working with up-and-coming talent from the Derby area.

“I want to help young swimmers to realise their potential in the pool and this course will tackle key areas which will allow them to improve. I look forward to seeing everyone at Moorways in May.”
