New office scheme officially opens
A new six-storey office development has opened in Chesterfield, which forms part of a wider regeneration scheme.
One Waterside Place features six floors of ‘Grade A’ office space, with a ground floor retail unit.
The 35,000 sq ft building, which is a key part of the Chesterfield Waterside regeneration scheme, has already attracted occupiers in the form of BHP and woman’s leisurewear company Varley.
Both deals were secured by joint letting agents Knight Frank and FHP Property Consultants.
Councillor Tricia Gilby, leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, said: “The opening of this new development is a key milestone for the £340 million Chesterfield Waterside regeneration project.
This will include new homes, office space, converting the upper floors of existing buildings, improvements to public realm and gigabyte infrastructure.
Leader of High Peak Borough Council, Councillor Anthony Mckeown said: “Town centres across the country face huge challenges and Buxton is no exception.
“To reverse that trend, we’re all agreed that Buxton town centre needs investment and improvement to create modern, fit for the future places for living, working and enjoying leisure time.”
