Invictus Communications has announced it has completed an extensive telephony upgrade for bus company trentbarton.

The telecommunications, IT and energy provision specialist has installed a new internet-based telephony platform across trentbarton and its wider parent Wellglade Group’s 12 sites, spanning from South Yorkshire to Loughborough, as well as its the main customer service call centre in Heanor.

The system, which replaces an outdated analogue network, is designed to be a flexible, reliable and capable solution by enabling colleagues to better communicate – including through mobile apps; make calls free of charge and ensure that no external call is missed.

Jeff Counsell, managing director at trentbarton, said: “We had been considering upgrading the telephony system for some time and, following a full survey of our requirements, Invictus Communications presented a compelling business case for this upgrade.

“As fellow members of Marketing Derby and East Midlands Chamber they are experts in their field and with shared values of ‘buy, sell and support local’ so they were the perfect fit for this project.”

Jonny McPhee, managing director at Invictus, said: “We are delighted to welcome trentbarton to our growing customer base across the East Midlands’ business community.

“Many businesses are not aware that analogue phone systems will become obsolete in 2025.

“It is, therefore, vital to plan ahead and ensure that their telecommunications are fit-for-purpose in the digital age and provide the flexible, reliable and cost-effective resource that will add value to their operations.”
