Marketing agency helps online retailers get into the black
Online retailers have experienced a boost in their Black Friday sales thanks to help from marketing agency Alphageek Digital.
The firm, which mounted around £30,000 worth of campaigns on behalf of its clients, saw an average of over 20-times return on the money spent during the day and over the following weekend.
Some experts had feared that the cost-of-living crisis would cool interest in Black Friday, which has become the biggest retail day of the year, by causing shoppers to rein in their spending.
But Alphageek said their sales for the weekend achieved on behalf of clients totalled over £600,000 from a £30,000 spend, meaning that for every £1 invested online, retailers achieved over £20 worth of sales on average across all campaigns.
Alex Mills, a director at the firm, said: “Black Friday was an incredible weekend for both us and our ecommerce clients, who did very well simply by strategically planning ahead and making the most of a great opportunity.
“While we invested more money on behalf of our clients this year compared to last, the return on investment was better still, which supports the general feeling that the Black Friday weekend was more successful than ever before.
“Most of the sales came through companies offering attractive discounts on their most popular products and it really paid off for them.
“All businesses differ and many of our clients are still running campaigns between now and new year.
“However, Black Friday is definitely the time to push if you’re an online / ecommerce focused business.”
The firm, which is run by Alex, along with fellow entrepreneurs Art Lindop and Kieran Flynn, had been preparing Black Friday campaigns for its clients, which include high-tech sportswear firm HUUB and local doughnut bakers Project D.
Originally set up in 2019, the company offers a range of digital marketing services.
Earlier this year it picked up two awards in the Breakthrough and Entrepreneur of the Year categories of the East Midlands Chamber Generation Next 2022 awards, which are open to individuals who are aged under 35, followed by start-up of the year in East Midlands Masters Awards.
