Fabric gifts retailer sews up deal for marina store
A business that specialises in embroidered, personalised fabric gifts for children has become the latest retailer to take space at Mercia Marina.
The Fabric Bug, which also sells a range of traditional toys in a contemporary design, including wooden toys, soft toys, children’s clothes and nursery décor, has opened for business at the marina, near Willington.
A space became available after the Still Waters shop moved to a larger unit at the marina.
The Fabric Bug, which was founded by Joanne Barker, joins nine existing independent retailers, with its outlet overlooking the waters at the marina.
Joanne is already well accustomed to the bustling marina due to her partner Iain’s business, Solutions for Accounting, being based in offices above The Boardwalk.
She said “The marina is an ideal location for The Fabric Bug as the retail offering at Mercia is very much independents with a like-minded drive and creative mindset to offer a different shopping experience and added value.
“I have been toying with the idea of growing the business and am confident that The Fabric Bug will be successful at the marina with its unique offering backed by exceptional customer service.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be situated in such a stunning location and looking forward to showcasing our range of personalised gifts and toys.
“Now is the ideal time as we start the festive run-up to Christmas and great easy location and free parking is perfect.”
