Rams staff run for prostate cancer
Derby County head coach Paul Warne and members of his coaching staff are taking part in a running challenge throughout this month to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
The Rams boss, along with assistant head coach Richie Barker, first team coach Matt Hamshaw, first team goalkeeper coach Andy Warrington and head of performance Luke Jenkinson, are taking part in Prostate United over the course of November.
Prostate United, now in its fifth year, is a fundraising challenge for staff members working for professional football clubs and the Rams’ quintet will be running 5km a day during the month to raise funds.
Prostate Cancer UK was founded to improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awareness of a long-neglected disease.
The charity’s top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. It invests millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.
Paul and his coaching staff have set themselves a target of raising £5,000 towards this vital research.
