Law firm advises on plastic products manufacturer acquisition

Law firm Freeths has advised on the acquisition of a Derbyshire firm, which manufactures sustainable plastic products.

The team advised Leafield Environmental on its purchase of Amberol, which makes self-watering planters and street furniture.

Based in Alfreton, Amberol works with a range of organisations, including local authorities, community gardening groups, businesses, and educational establishments.

As well as self-watering planters, the company also makes a range of recycling and non-recycling litter bins, as well as benches and picnic tables.

Moulded litter and recycling bins manufacturer Leafield, a new client of Freeths, was actively looking at complementary acquisitions, and Amberol’s range and ethos was considered a perfect fit for its growth plans.

The Freeths’ transaction team was led by corporate director Ateeq Ahmed, with support from environmental partner Emma Tattersdill, tax partner Adrian Hackett, managing associate Mohammed Abbas, associate Anika Pancholi and legal assistant Lasharna Barnett.
