Rail forum appoints second vice-chair

Rail Forum Midlands, which represents rail firms across the region and beyond, has announced the appointment of a second vice-chair to its board.

Simon Higgens MBE was invited to take up the new role in recognition of his pro-activity and drive to help other members. His role will support the current chair and existing vice-chair.

Simon is the business development director at Story Contracting, a civil engineering company that operates in the rail and construction sectors.

He said: “I am delighted and privileged to become a vice-chair of Rail Forum Midlands.

“I have been associated with the organisation as both a member and on the board for eight years and have witnessed the significant growth in its membership and influence within the rail industry.”

Rail forum chairman Paul Robinson said: “Simon brings a wealth of knowledge and a real passion for the industry.

“His involvement and support since his election to the board have been exemplary and it is fitting this is now recognised.”
