Technology consultancy TBAT Innovation is encouraging firms to apply for a share of up to £25 million to support their research and development.

Applications have opened for Innovate UK’s Smart open grant funding programme.

Part of UK Research and Innovation, the organisation is looking to invest in the best game-changing and commercially viable, innovative or disruptive ideas that are business focussed.

Applications can come from any area of technology and be applied to any part of the economy, such as, but not exclusively: net zero, health and wellbeing, technologies, the arts, design and media.

TBAT has said it expects competition for the cash to be high as this round of Smart funding will be the last in the current format. Future rounds will be more focussed on supporting proposals from UK-based innovative businesses that are destined for early, successful commercialisation, growth and exports.

Applications close on 13 April. For more information click here.
