Office Principles has revealed it has been appointed to play a role in the creation of Derby Museums’ forthcoming Museum of Making.

The firm, which specialises in commercial workspace design solutions, is to deliver the design of the furniture for the ÂŁ17 million project at the Silk Mill.

The company is now working with Derby Museums and main contractor Speller Metcalfe on the project.

Work on the Museum of Making is almost complete and it is hoped that it will be able to open soon, government restrictions permitting.

Created on the site of the world’s first factory, it will showcase Derby’s rich industrial past, present and future.

It will feature tens of thousands of exhibits – large and small – for the public to explore, engage with and even make their own versions.
