The boss of Aristotle Financial Planning has hailed the success of a series of podcasts, which feature a number of Marketing Derby Bondholders.

Financial advisor James Wallis, who founded Aristotle Financial Planning, based at Friar Gate Studios, launched the Inside Derby podcasts in September to help businesses come together during lockdown.

To date, he has now recorded 20 podcasts with local businesses, many of them Marketing Derby Bondholders.

Those who have featured so far include Adam Bamford, from Colleague Box, Abbi Burns from Darley Dance Productions and Sarah Newton and Simon Burch from city public relations firm Penguin PR.

Other company owners who have been featured include Becky Brown, of SimpliciB, which aims to educate people about food, recipes and habits.

Becky has been working with a number of Bondholders, looking for opportunities to collaborate further.

James said: “My Inside Derby podcast gives my guests the chance to showcase their businesses but also show more about the person behind the brand so that people can understand why they run their business and get to know them.

“That also gives me an opportunity to get to know them too and it’s also my way to do them a favour that they might just repay further down the line, so there is definitely a mutual benefit.

“I was nervous when I started out last September but I really enjoy doing them now.

“I’ve learned lots from the people I’ve interviewed, especially how so many people launch businesses because there has been one particular trigger point that convinced them to go it alone.”
