Generous gift for charity
Bondholder NK Motors has gifted a car worth almost £30,000 to fellow Bondholder me&dee charity.
The generous gift, part of the NK Motors' support of me&dee, as one of its charities of the year, was presented to the charity on Friday 4th September at the NK Motors showroom on Pride Park.
me&dee was joined at the event by other Derby businesses who pledge their support to the charity, including Bondholders Derby County Football Club, ‘Av It Media (Diamond Sponsors of the charity) and Essential Print Services – which donated promotional material for the event and is the longest standing business support of the charity. A special message from the Mayor of Derby, Frank Harwood, was also played congratulating the charity and offering his support.
The car, a Proceed GT Line, has been dual branded with the me&dee and NK Motors logos and NK Motors will replace the car with a new one every six months.
Sanj Kumar, Dealer Principal of NK Motors, said: “We hope the donation of this premium car will have a huge impact for the charity and hope that the finances it frees up will help me&dee continue its amazing work. Now that our showroom is open again, we have the collection boxes out on display and, thanks to our customers’ generosity, we have already been able to raise a significant amount for the charity.”
Maria Hanson MBE, founder of me&dee, added: “When someone offers such tremendous support as this, it demonstrates that they believe in the work we are doing, which is extremely powerful to us. Each holiday for the families we support costs over £400, so saving the cost of a lease car on top of this is hugely beneficial to the charity and will mean we can reach out to even more families. There is always a need to help more people than we have resources for and funding is always desperately required.”
